An average of 28 minutes a day

I recently read an article on marriage and parenting about the amount of talk time with kids, here is the quote:

"...the average mother spends only 15 minutes a day talking to each of her children. And the average father spends 13 minutes talking to every child. But out of those 28 total minutes, 8 minutes of that is spent in arguing, reprimanding or nagging!

This parenting challenge reminds me of a humorous story I heard the other day:A teacher asked her class what each wanted to become when they grew up. "President!" "A fireman." "A teacher!" One by one they answered until it came Billy's turn.

The teacher asked, "Billy, what do you want to be when you grow up?" "Possible," Billy responded. "Possible?" asked the teacher. "Yes," Billy said, "my mom is always telling me I'm impossible. When I grow up I want to become possible."

Oh, how we need to guard our mouths when we get frustrated or angry at home! And on the broader front, we need to guard our culture."

I always admire career women who are successful at work and can also be wonderful mothers to their children.

Being parents ain't easy!

In my case, on average I probably spend about 30 minutes making fun of my kids, and 1 minute telling them what to do / what not to do... (They usually don't listen to me anyways... So i don't know if I should count that minute at all...)

hahaha...
